This series of artwork, featuring landscape oil paintings and cat drawings, explores themes of hope and imagination, looking toward tomorrow and dreams. The blurry, hazy visions and voids in the paintings guide us to be open to possibilities and choices. As long as the future is unwritten, there’s always room for imagination.

During late-night hours spent painting in the studio, my wandering thoughts brought me to the phrase, "If winter comes, can spring be far behind?" This reminds us that even in metaphorically cold and sad times, like winter, the warmth and renewal of spring will eventually arrive. This message of hope is essential to live by.
Imagination is the mind’s ability to create and shape images, forming ideas of what is not present to the senses. It emphasizes a private, reflective space where thoughts and images come together.

This theme is further expressed in my nine drawings of an imaginary cat with nine lives, drawn with Chinese ink on paper. These drawings symbolize hope, light, and an optimistic future.
Nature often inspires me, and in this series of landscape paintings, I use colors that resemble natural elements: brown for the ground and dirt, blue for the sky and sea, green for plants, and orange for the sun and light. Later, I added metallic paints like tin, silver, and pearl, imagining them as glittering minerals that make things feel special and precious. Finally, I used transparent white to lighten the mood and lift away dark clouds, creating a sense of lightness and hope throughout the series.
